Actually, it’s a terrible set of poorly shot photos of a fairly mundane event. Not sure why everyone seems to think this is something special.
I think the word “great” is being used to refer to their value in the historical record.

it’s nice to see photos of steve jobs. because…you..know… he’s dead and there won’t be any new photos of him except photos from the past nobody has released until then.
