Microsoft Corp. has sold about 1.5 million Surface devices, people with knowledge of the company’s sales said, a slow start in its bid to crack the fast-growing tablet market to make up for slumping personal-computer demand.
A stunning surprise. Not.
Given the expectations, 1.5 million is certainly more than I thought they would sell. I am assume that’s both models?
According to the article:
“Microsoft has sold little more than a million of the Surface RT version and about 400,000 Surface Pros since their debuts”
I wonder what the return rate was?
At least it’s selling better than the BlackBerry PlayBook which has sold about 2 million units since it was released in 2011.
