I love that these particular Muppets predate Kermit.
Also worth noting the song first appeared in a Scandinavian soft-porn movie.
While these Muppets definately date back to the first season of Sesame Street (can you tell me how to get there) in 1969. Kermit the Frog was a Sesame Street season 1 regular and as one of Jim Hensons oldest creations, appeared as far back as 1955’s Sam and Friends.
As a child of the seventies who grew up watching Sesamie Street, the Muppet Show and other programs of the time (Electric Company) I’ve always felt that a little piece of my childhood died with Jim Henson in 1990.

I stand corrected.
