Esquire:
Red Bull Stratos was, by all criteria, a PR triumph. Fifty television channels covered the jump live, seven-million people watched it stream online, and @redbullstratos has 235,000 followers and counting. But beyond the dazzle, beyond the slickness and the spectacle, is Felix’s achievement really that important?
I won’t ruin the writer’s conclusion for you but what do you think? Was it “just” a corporate sponsored PR stunt? A “leap” forward to science? Something else?

Pure stunt
I think we’re too cynical and sarcastic and can’t tell the difference anymore.
Fucking awesome.
I don’t drink RedBull and never will.
But, I am really happy that they sponsored Felix’s jump.
I watched the entire event and hope to see the “movie” soon.
One giant leap for a man and one small step for mankind.
it was fun and exiting to watch.
there are worse ways to spend 50 million bucks.
“We” never could tell real science apart from stunts. Only scientists can.
Thus far, the biggest, by far, “refutation” of the science involved and data created by this project, (which is more than just the one jump), has been because of the sponsor.
If that’s all you have, then what you have is nothing.
not. read the freakin essay
That’s one giant leap for a man, one small step for mankind
