Google’s Eric Schmidt last year handed the CEO reigns over to co-founder Larry Page and became the firm’s executive director, but he has remained in the spotlight. This week Schmidt has been touring Asia to help introduce the Nexus 7 there, and during a stop in South Korea the normally staid executive loosened up with by dancing with Korean pop sensation Psy.
He dances like he just Schmidt his pants.

One difference between the two: Schmidt is still actually authorized to speak for his company.

The real trouble isn’t so much that Woz speaks when he’s not authorized to, it’s that media keep pinning him to Apple because of what he did some 20-30 years ago that hasn’t been relevant to the company’s internal workings, policies etc since Jobs came back as CEO. And yet the media acts like he knows these things. They really need to stop with the association, especially in hit foddering headlines. Steve Woz, computer engineer who has worked with X, Y, Z as well as helping to found Apple with Steve Jobs, should be how it goes. NOT Apple’s Steve Woz, as if he’s still part of the company and not just an honorary member for old time’s sake
I agree, except I think even mentioning Woz in conversations like this only makes it less likely we’ll stop hearing from him.
Yeah. The real issue isn’t so much what he says but the attention. The blogs get hits off name dropping Apple in headlines so they will keep doing it. And because they can get hits off him they keep giving him attention which he seems to enjoy. And since he hasn’t really done anything in a while to garner attention they will just milk “Apple” until that stops working which at this point will be when the world explodes
