South Korea’s antitrust watchdog said Thursday it has launched an investigation into whether Samsung is abusing its dominant position in the wireless market to disadvantage Apple.
It’s been a bad couple of weeks for Samsung.

A bad month. You have China labor issues, FTC investigations, billions in losses, etc.

What interest me is the fact that I have not heard much complains from the Android-bots regarding the rejection of their FRAND patent claims in Europe. Maybe those judges were bought by Apple too.
The chaebols are being given so much of a free run in Korea anymore. There’s a lot less love for them, especially in political circles. I think politicians here have decided they actually want to run the country and not leave it to corrupt big business. The change, however, will be akin to turning the Titanic.
So, with that said, Samsung will probably not be given a free run. Korea wants to break away from its protectionist stereotype. The Cheobols are the protected species they used to be.
