I feel like I can’t help damning the Nexus 7 with faint praise. It’s a nicely built tablet, that’s fast enough and has a workable OS. It has a good browser and some good built-in first-party apps. As a general-purpose device it’s hobbled by a small keyboard. It lacks a cellular networking option and a rear camera. As a reading device – possibly its strongest suit – it’s let down by poor font rendering and a sub-retina display.
LMBO! So a 7″ tablet has a problem with a small keyboard. Lol. 🙂
I find statements in reviews about many devices pertaining to fonts laughable too. General users don’t care or know what a retina is or if a font isn’t rendering retina’esque.
General users will notice if they have to work harder to read small print on the thing.
But they don’t, that’s my point. The font rendering isn’t atrocious or even lacking and the display isn’t retina but really good, compare the ppi/etc and you’ll see it isn’t too far off from Apple’s definition of retina.
which stores are these general users getting

Scan twitter and see how man nexus 7 have died after few days, etc.
Best Buy, Gamestop, and some others. I forgot all of them but I bought mine direct and won another for my wife on Monday at a meetup. 🙂
