ARC works by measuring your room using the included measurement microphone and measurement software and then generates an algorithm to provide a correction of your room’s acoustic problems that you can apply to your mix using the included plug-in. You canrecord and mix with confidence knowing that what you hear from your speakers is a faithful representation of how your music will translate to the outside world.
Advanced Room Correction System
It took me a second to grok this announcement. I first misread it as a reference to ARC (Audio Return Channel), which is a major feature of HDMI 1.4 and is in most new TVs and receivers. After that, it took me a second to realize how this was any different than Audyssey, which does something very similar, except that it’s for the playback/listening side, whereas this system is for the recording/mixing side.
I guess this is what happens when you have receivers on the brain.
