All their current Apps are Web Based (Flash). Free.
All their iphone apps are HTML5 wrappers. Free.
Once you start with Free, you can’t make customer jump on the wagon.
Don’t forget the Patents.
If they go with Android,
At best they can do an Amazon. except Amazon customers
are easily fooled by Prime and price manipulations.
Amazon is also building a phone.
If they go with WebOS type then they are no better than Palm/HP.
Zuckerberg really does think he’s Steve Jobs reincarnated, doesn’t he? He’s certainly got the arrogance down pat, he just doesn’t have the originality. Also has much less respect for the users of his products.

I definitely think they could build a smartphone to be competitive, but I don’t believe it will be a serious competitor for iOS. Maybe something like what Amazon did building on top of Android. Buying webOS would give them a greater chance at creating something new instead of another flavor of Android.
