Sony Pictures has tapped its Oscar-winning “Social Network” scribe Aaron Sorkin to adapt “Steve Jobs,” Walter Isaacson’s bestselling biography of the late Apple co-founder.
Sorkin, who earned an Oscar for adapting Ben Mezrich’s Facebook tome “The Accidental Billionaires,” previously wrote “Moneyball” for the studio. His other feature credits include the politically-themed trio “Charlie Wilson’s War,” “The American President” and “A Few Good Men,” as well as “Malice.”
This announcement alone guarantees the movie will be better than anything Ashton Kutcher stars in.
Isn’t blind support of Sorkin the same as those who are excited about seeing Kutcher play Jobs? The latter doesn’t have the Oscar credibility, but does Oscar always mean “great movie”? Also, Studio 60.
How is “better than anything Ashton Kutcher stars in” considered blind support of Sorkin?
And there’s no comparison – Sorkin has done amazing stuff. Only hard core fans of Kutcher could possibly compare their body of work and think they are comparable.
And no one said it would automatically be a “great movie”. You’re reading far too much into one line.

Sorkin is the guy I want writing stuff that matters to me. I don’t care if he occasionally misfires; even his lesser work easily holds my interest more than the amassed average pile of crap that passes for mainstream Hollywood drama.
“Blind support”? Try “proven track record.”
Wow…a C- actor playing a legend…lame. Maybe Keanu can play Woz…
