Your CallingVault number is a real phone number capable of receiving SMS/MMS messages and calls from any phone. The people you give your number to do not have to be CallingVault members to reach you.

Hey Robert, we’re still working out our pricing details. As for now, I can tell you that during beta, there will be no charge and that upon launch we’re aiming for a very affordable price point. We’ll be sharing more details in the coming weeks.
Does it work in Canada? Or will this be like Google Voice and only work in the US?
Hey thanks for your question. As for right now, CallingVault will only be available in the United States. However, we are planning on extending our service internationally before long.

If your gonna compete with Google Voice. I don’t see how not offering the service for free will help people try this out over Google Voice.
