Memoirs of an Apple Genius eBook

The Apple Store is the place where those experiences are made far better or far worse. Being on the front lines means gathering some great war stories. Stephen is here to share a few of his.

  1. Bought it last weekend before he cut the price by almost 50% and honestly wasn’t too impressed with his anecdotes (I wouldn’t go so far as to call them stories).

I try to be openminded about this sort of thing and support independent authors, but I didn’t really get much out of this aside from the lingering feeling that $9.00 for a 47 page book was excessive and that the anecdotes made for mediocre reading at best.

  2. Stephen makes a solid effort to convey his experience working as a Genius for Apple from 2006 to 2008. While brief, the book will appeal to many Apple fans and those with a general curiosity for what goes on behind the bar.
While not a behind the scenes glimpse of the inner workings of Apple Retail, the book does succeed in offering insight into what a Genius goes through on a day to day basis, while providing some unique stories along the way. At 47 pages it is a quick read, so it’s perfect for the morning commute.

As a fan of 512pixels, I am glad to see Stephen stepping outside the boundaries of his blog to write about a subject he is obviously passionate about.

  3. I bought it because of comments like this. And you couldn’t be more off. It is 100% boring and pointless. It tells NOTHING about what goes on behind the bar as you claim. And those ‘unique’ stories aren’t really. There are a dozen websites where folks have posted the same stuff for years. And did it with better writing skills. Not really a shock since his blog is just as boring, when he bothers to actually write something that isn’t just rehash of the days news from every other site.
