if the rules in your state say you have to allow them to post your name etc then see what the laws in the next state are and can you go collect from there.
don’t give to any charity that contacts you. chances are they are scammers. Even if they claim to be the Red Cross they might not be. Give money to the folks you want and you contact.
beware of giving money to family and friends. give too much or in the wrong way and they could have to pay taxes. oops.
as for the rest of the advice about what to do with your money. its your money. if you want to quit your job and blow it on weed and hookers, have at it. just be prepared to pay the price
