Ya, it looks like the competition are trying everything, anything to stop this steamroller.
Of course the irony of the Australian call was that their 3.5g networks were delivering some of the fasted content to the device in the world.
This is good news; it is completely misleading. Here in the UK we don’t have a 4G network at all, and the ones being trialled won’t work with the new iPad anyway. An iPad user in the UK should never see the words 4G.
Apple should withdraw iPad from Europe in protest at all the stupidity. Let them eat ice cream sandwich.
Advertising 4G LTE and having only a small footnote noting that it does not work with 4G LTE is kinda misleading, considering most people buying iPads are not tech savvy at all
… 4G LTE in that country
This is just stupidity. Since 2010, ITU has allowed WiMax, LTE and certain versions of HSPA+ to be called as 4G.
If some countries, like the UK, don’t even have HSPA networks, then Apple’s marketing is misleading there. But in most European countries HSDPA+ and even HSDPA-DC have been rolled out. European LTE frequencies do not work with iPad.
