It’s funny, I was doing the math on this the other day. I almost bought shares of Apple way back in 2003 when they were trading around $14 or $15 per share. I decided not to and invested in Akamai instead. I did okay with Akamai and sold my shares, but for a variety of financial reasons, I wasn’t able to keep playing around in the market for a long time. If I had used that money to purchase shares of Apple instead and then did nothing else, they would have been worth about $100,000 today.
Sigh.
Been a few different times I almost bought. When it was super low, I didn’t really have a way to buy any, but I figured (correctly) it would be a good idea. Later, while it was still below $100, I considered borrowing a five-figure sum to buy some shares, thinking it would work out okay even fairly quickly. It would have….
