That piece was pretty vapid, no? Or did I manage to miss the point?
About a month ago I went to the first Microsoft Store in the San Diego area. As I walked in, I overheard one of the staff politely informing someone, “no I’m sorry, this isn’t the Apple Store, that’s a few doors down.” After looking around for five minutes, I left to go find my wife. When she found me, she said “Hey I looked for you in that Microsoft store and asked one of the staff if they’d seen you. They said, yeah, but that you left and probably went to the Apple Store.”
Not really much of a “war”, is it? More like a mosquito biting an elephant on the ass…
Redmond has always copied OS X and now are coping the Apple Stores. Anyone remember the Bertrand Serlet presentation at the 2006 WWDC?
