Misguided is more the word I would use. Because like so many other things, it puts all the responsibility on Apple with claims that they should be the ones to vet every aspect of every app including running checks on patents and trademarks being used.
If such responsibility is forced on Apple then nothing is going to get approved with any sense of timeliness because such checks will take ages.
And really should it be Apple’s job simply because they are willing to sell the product in their stores. Shouldn’t the actual developers be responsible for creating a product that they have the appropriate legal rights to. Yes they should. And if they don’t, especially after claiming they do when they submit the app, Apple pulls the apps from the store when notified about the issue.
Those that claim that it is Apple’s job will be up next to claim that Apple should be forced to drop all training programs unless they are willing to train on anything and everything that works on an Apple product or works with an Apple product no matter who made it. And to warranty all products sold in their stores or stop selling third party items.
