Using today’s market cap numbers, Apple is worth $459.2 billion and RIM is worth $8.2.
And RIM said in 2007 that the iPhone wouldn’t impact their business. Good call RIM.

To be fair, once should limit the comparison to the iPhone/iOS business. I believe Apple has always been bigger than RIM, historically.
Well that would drop it down to 28-29 RIMs…..
I don’t think it was the iPhone that impacted RIM that much. It was probably low-priced Android smartphones that did it along with RIM’s nonchalant co-CEOs. I know one of those guys said he hated touch-screens because they were no good for texting or messaging. Maybe he was right, but the smartphone world doesn’t really care about one’s man’s opinion.
And would those Android smartphones you cite exist in anything like their present form had the iPhone never been released?
