Daredevil photos from the top of skyscrapers

No way in hell I would ever do that.

  1. I haven’t done buildings. Sailing vessels (much lower) including the USCGC Eagle one afternoon (by invitation).

And, an “interesting” temporary foot bridge just upstream of Glen Canyon Dam during the dam’s construction. This had chain link deck and sides. That’s OK. The sides were only about upper thigh high (not so OK). And the bridge carried a large water pipe on one side, which unbalanced it so that the deck sloped perhaps 20 degrees toward the pipe side. Even less OK.

But fun and exhilarating. (This was by invitation of a group…I did it at least 2, perhaps 3, years during the construction, last in 1963 or 64.) And 50 years ago–I’m not sure I would repeat the experience (I can’t of course on the same bridge, as it was removed when no longer needed for crew access cross river).

As was pointed out by my guide on the first sailing significant vessel climb, after the first 30 feet or so, it doesn’t matter how much farther you fall.

(Edited to fix a typo and to add the final paragraph.)
