Best advice I can give as a professional photographer on buying lenses.
1: Buy the camera maker’s lenses.
2: Spend the absolute most your an afford.
3: Tell the significant other how great the photos will be of the kids/grandkids/cat/vacation.
4: No lens is ever too long, wide or fast enough.

For the record, my favorite lens of all time is a 35mm 1.4. I should know, I’ve owned four of ’em!
