iPhone stops New York Philharmonic

From “thousandfold echo” comes the reason why you turn your phone off at concerts:

Until today I’ve never been to a concert where a cellphone stopped the orchestra in the middle of a piece, but now I can check that awful milestone off the list.

That would be embarrassing enough. But to have the conductor stop the orchestra and chastise you from the stage? Mortifying.

  1. i say good. They should stop and wait for that person to be done etc. I would love to see movie theaters stop the movie when someone whips out a cell phone to text.

  2. I honestly don’t know what I’d do had that happened to me.
When I’m in a concert I usually just put my phone into airplane mode and check that no alarms and/or reminders might go off, then flip the silent switch.

    Oh boy.
