I’m amazed that these two guys were able to keep a straight face while blithering about the blatant copy of the MacBook Pro. Keyboard lighting that “welcomes” you? Almost as relevant as Buick’s early 2000s TV ads touting heated windshield wiper fluid.
Unbelievable. How shameless are they to even make this video? Majorly innovative industrial design there HP.
The sad thing is, when you look closely at it, you can see what a poor knock off it really is. Sure it’s about 90% of the way to being a MacBook, but the last 10% just completely eludes them. To paraphrase Steve, you can copy form and function, but you clearly cannot copy style or taste.
I keep thinking this is a parody video.
Wow, this is bad! These guys are even more delusional than RIM’s engineers! They’re sitting there with a MacBook knockoff & are acting like it’s the most brilliant design they’ve ever come up with! SMH! Good job giving Apple some free promo!
“It’s Certainly one HP’s most proud of.”
We’re really true to this core attribute of honesty???
Really??????
Every specific aspect of the design they talk about is something they have altered from the Apple core design. By completely failing to talk about any Apple-derived design element, they implicitly acknowledge that those core elements are not their own.
My pulse quickened all right.
Now hold on everyone. It has a VOLUME control knob thingy!
“When you open it up, it’s a little like Christmas.”
Thanks Mom and Dad! It’s a Macbuh.. oh, it’s a knockoff.
They even shaved their heads to look as Jonathan Ive! Maybe they thought that putting two shaved designers trying to find good things about their product would make twice the impact… They’re just two boring guys…
I forget. Does Jony Ive say “ummm” and “ahh” in the Apple videos, too?
The old guy looks like a Convict (minus the orange Jumpsuit) telling about his whereabouts, while the blue shirt guy looks like he’s expecting Jony Ive to Storm on the set just to bash his head with a Mac Pro
Interaction gravity? You can’t be serious.
I want to be there at a Starbucks or wherever when someone with a Macbook Pro sits next to someone with an Envy and see what happens.
LOL … so sad!
“The second goal was the level of honesty.”
I feel sooooo embarrassed for these guys, HP should just stick to making printers!
Color accents that count…
Gorgeous? I don’t think so. Envy? Yes, HP envies Apple and plagiarize Apple’s design.
This should be laptop. Not audio player.
Why not put another knob to the left for brightness control?
’level of honesty’?? ha. I swore never to buy HP computer equipment ever again.”when u open it up it’s a little like x-mas” – you don’t know which surprise you’ll get.’we gave technology human nature’ – oh that’s why i have to give my laptop a massage before it turns on? and here i thought it was to force-connect the GPU to the motherboard… it was ‘human nature all along’.

How ironic that they named it Envy.
