AppleInsider:
Big-box retailer Staples will begin a sale on Friday for RIM’s PlayBook tablet in the BlackBerry maker’s home country of Canada. The 16GB, 32GB and 64GB models of the device will sell for $199, $299 and $399, respectively. According to a photo of an advertisement sent by an AppleInsider reader, the sale will run until Dec. 1.
Apparently the sale is going to happen in the US too. Still, it seems the PlayBook is about $199, $299 and $399 overpriced.
Why would anyone buy a corpse?
the play book is amazing. spec wise it beats the ipad . media running more articles for apple?
Indeed. Apple is a cult. Apple has the same network issues as RIM, but it rarely gets reported. Apple introduces a phone (4GS) that is the same as their previous phone, and people line up for it. iPhone batteries don’t work? People don’t care: give ’em Angry Birds. The Playbook is the best tablet out there in terms of functionality. All the obsession with iPads tells me is that people want portable game machines with the ability to watch a movie once in a while. It is actually more of a commentary on society. Don’t drink the Kool-Aid….
And the original reviewer of this article seems to be drinking the kool-aid too. With a statement of “Still, it seems the PlayBook is about $199, $299 and $399 overpriced.” it snot hard to see that his kool-aid tastes too good to try another flavour!
Who cares if playbook is a corpse ? Its got great functionality, everything works & having a app store with 1m useless apps that get downloaded & never used is horribly over rated.
Similarly the HP Touchpad is a ‘corpse’ but a damn good one that works beautifully, even with websites using adobe flash that iPad cant use. Long live the anything-but-apple brigade 🙂
The best pad and the best phones – sounds like a winner to me
I’d still put my money on Kindle Fire. No one is developing any app for RIM (either OS 6, 7 or BBX). RIM’s products are only for guys above 50’s who are still living in caves 🙂
Hey Bob I know you work from RIM stop trolling the internet
For apps (or lack of it), I certainly hope that Android Compatibility Layer is getting better and better.
