This story has been updated with new, but confusing information. Seems iMessage will be back before the end of the day.
It finally makes sense to me. I read the post three times thinking, “Why would the United Auto Workers want to block iMessage?”
Don’t criticise the UAE. iMessage is working perfectly and I’m using it personally on my iPhone and Mac, so as both my parents, siblings and friends. I’m always on iMessage. FaceTime is working too and I’ve used it numerous times to make both local and international video chats. Only thing is that the UAE is not listed in the iMessage setup for iPad and iPod Touch and on FaceTime for all devices. If you choose another country, it will work just fine.
