From that article, it seems the support is limited to fights with Apple, and not with Microsoft. Besides Motorola, are there any other big Android mobile players which haven’t agreed to pay Microsoft for using Android?
You’re right, of course – because Apple is the only other real player in the smartphone business. So yeah, they’re going to financially back any cell phone maker who sues Apple, because it only helps them in the long-run.
I mean, how stupid would they look and feel suing RIM for cryin’ out loud.
Also Apple is not interested in licensing anything to Android, unlike Microsoft.
Nice move Google.
If only this wasn’t an empty gesture, since I would wager, that in most cases Google’s lawyers will urge these companies to cut a deal, because their patents will not hold up.
