∞ Apple begins in-store product pickup

Katie Marsal for AppleInsider:

When checking out from Apple’s online store, a new “Pick up” option is available, from which users can select a store in San Francisco, Calif. It also states that the in-store pickup option is “coming soon to a U.S. Apple Store near you.”

Just another example of Apple’s commitment to serving its customers in the best way possible.

  1. It’s also a great way to get even more people into the stores to be enthralled by shinies.

  2. Another interesting part of the article mentions that Apple…

“…plans to expand many of its retail locations in the U.S., as officials believe the current stores are now “too constrained” to properly serve the high volume of customers they experience.”

Those plans are probably aided by the fact that most retail properties are starving for tenants. It’s a good time for Apple to expand.

I’m stunned they hadn’t done in-store pickup for online orders a long time ago. It’s such a logical point of cost-cutting that serves the customer as well as Apple. Lots of retail chains perform this service already.
