Apple on Tuesday released an update to OS X Lion to version 10.7.1 – the update is available through the Software Update system preference, and is recommended for all Lion users.
Apple says the update includes “general operating system fixes that enhance the stability and compatibility” of your Mac running Lion, but calls out a few changes specifically, including fixes that:
- Address an issue that may cause the system to become unresponsive when playing a video in Safari;
- Resolve an issue that may cause system audio to stop working when using HDMI or optical audio out;
- Improve the reliability of Wi-Fi connections;
- Resolve an issue that prevents transfer of your data, settings, and compatible applications to a new Mac running OS X Lion.
I downloaded 10.7.1 Update from Apple, and it weighed in at 83+ MB. Curious that it’s so much larger than the SU download.
Different packages for different machines, I have a 2011 MacBook Pro & a 2011 MacBook Air. The MBA package was 53.9 MB, the MBP came to 17.4 MB, both via Software Update.
Alas, no fix for Active Directory. They need to get on that, or IT departments are going to have major ammunition to keep Macs out.
I just noticed that I’m getting a lot of popping noises in my audio since I moved to 10.7.1 so I’m off to the Apple forums to see if I’m alone.
