Up to now, Apple peripheral maker Twelve South has offered devices for Macs and iPads, but the company is branching out into iPhone accessories as well with the introduction of BookBook for iPhone, a version of its book-looking case designed specifically for the iPhone 4. It costs $59.99.
[ad#Google Adsense 300×250 in story]BookBook for iPhone resembles a leatherbound book, but it’s actually a pocket-sized wallet that encases and protects your iPhone 4, and offers space for your driver’s license, debit or credit card, cash and receipts.
The BookBook provides edge-to-edge protection, and the leather case has been distressed to give it a worn, aged look like it just came off a dusty library bookshelf. No two are exactly alike, according to Twelve South.

Had I know this two weeks earlier, I wouldn’t have bought a Saddleback Leather Small Wallet. But I guess I’ll be buying this one, too.
I saw this headline for the Techcrunch article for the Book Book:
“The BookBook Case: Because You Always Wanted Your iPhone To Look Like A Little Bible.”
My first thought: “Well, DUH! It is the Jesus Phone after all.”
Meh. I can’t see fumbling to open the cover and fold it back on itself each time to make or answer a call. All that folding would quickly weaken the “binding.”
Might be nice for an iPod Touch though.
I usually don’t like this either, because most of these cases aren’t well executed, even more expensive ones like Sena cases.
If this iPhone 4 folder is anything like the one for the iPad, though, it’s going to be great.
Since this thing is made entirely out of leather, constant usage will only make it nicer.
