We knew the Tesla Roadster was fast, but not this fast: after just three years on the market, the Roadster is no more. In about two months, Tesla will cease taking orders for the all-electric Roadster in the U.S., marking the end of an era during which the company helped prove to an often-skeptical public that electric vehicles could perform alongside conventional gasoline performance cars.
Should be interesting to see what they do next.

Roadster body/glider is supplied by Lotus I believe . Lotus is discontinuing this model. Maybe Tesla will get the new model that Lotus will replace it with.
Tesla is bringing out an S model soon that will be a 5 passenger sedan.
In his 2009 interview with Kevin Pollak (http://www.kevinpollakschatshow.com/archive/?cat=187), Elon Musk said, in sum, that the Roadster was a deliberate luxury-priced item whose revenues would fund the next Tesla car, which would ideally benefit from whatever economies of scale the Roadster had made possible. And so on.
Which makes perfect sense.
Nice car. I only ever saw one on the street, but I was instantly impressed.
