∞ Brian Lam leaves Gizmodo

After five years at Gizmodo, I’m moving on to play around in the ocean a bit more and figure out what my next adventure is. Thanks for reading the site—I’ve had fun creating it.

P.S. Joe Brown will be taking over for me. Congratulate him warmly!

And with that short note, Lam is gone.

See you later | Gizmodo

  1. I guess after the iPhone 4 screw-up, the aftermath and the steadily declining quality of the post on Gizmodo, there isn’t much more to say.

There was a time when they actually produced good content; witty articles with a lot of humour, but these times are long gone. What’s worse is that Brian, Jason and especially Jesus were a major factor in this decline.

I left the Gizmodo community shortly after the iPhone 4 debacle and don’t regret it.
Maybe when the entire old guard has left, Gizmodo can begin to improve again.

  2. cue  the theories that Gawker Media settled with Apple to avoid a civil law suit over the iphone 4 stunt and a condition was that everyone involved in said affair and the attempt to also get the ipad 1 before release gets the heck out of Dodge

  3. And by “play around in the ocean a bit more and figure out what my next adventure is”, he means “hope my new cellmate was busted for insider trading.”

  4. Yeah, I believe they carried around a TV-Be-Gone and shut off demo videos all over the show floor while taping themselves grinning like puerile adolescents. Congratulated themselves for having done something subversive, as I remember.
