By now, you’ve presumably read The Loop’s live coverage of today’s WWDC keynote and seen the major news announcements. But there’s nothing quite like watching an Apple keynote for yourself. Now you can, thanks to Apple, which posted the video to its site this afternoon.
During this two-hour long presentation, Apple CEO Steve Jobs and other execs took turns unveiling new features coming to Mac OS X 10.7 “Lion,” iOS 5 and a new cloud service called iCloud. Lion will be first out of the gate when it arrives in the Mac App Store this July, with iOS 5 and iCloud following this fall.
Hope this video makes it to the Apple Keynotes podcast feed for download, too.
I wish they would post these in HD. Kind of lame to be watching them talk about such cool new technologies and the resolution is so bad it’s pixelated at full-screen.
On one hand, I hear what you’re saying. On the other hand, Apple had this video up about half an hour after the keynote was over. That’s an incredibly quick transcoding job. Also, I believe the video quality is adaptive depending on the overall demand, as this stuff is being relayed by content delivery networks like Akamai.
Is there any other means to view the keynote via AppleTV besides the podcast? Does QT Player do AirPlay? I’m trying (and sometimes succeeding) to avoid reading the reports about yesterday’s announcements; I always like watching the keynote before the things get picked apart. That’s when it’s its most magical.
