Twelve South has introduced a new iteration of its BookBook carrying case for Mac laptops – the BookBook for MacBook Air, now available for $79.99.
[ad#Google Adsense 300×250 in story]The BookBook is made from leather and is hand-distressed, with a design that makes it look like a hardbound book. Two hardback covers are designed to shield the MacBook Air from impact, and the BookBook incorporates extended covers and a padded spine cushion. Inside is a brown, padded interior. The case closes with leather zipper pulls.
The BookBook for MacBook Air is available in either 11- or 13-inch forms, and joins similar cases for the iPad and MacBook Pro.
Gorgeous accessory.
As for any Apple laptop, usage within an enclosure is not recommended, as it hinders proper airflow at the vents placed under the hinge, and accumulates heat at the bottom case. Stylish design for carrying the machine and nifty way to hide the MacBook Air from potential theft, comfortably tucked in an ordinary bookcase, but should in no way stay in there when the laptop is used.
It’s too bad that the PlayBook is smaller than the iPad. A case that makes an iPad look like a PlayBook would be a great theft deterrent.
Actually, it might increase chance of theft. After all, doesn’t everyone want something that NOBODY else has?!
