When Apple unveiled the iPad 2, the company said it would be available on March 11. Until now, the time was not confirmed.
[ad#Google Adsense 300×250 in story]I have been able to confirm that the iPad will go on sale at 5:00 pm local time across the U.S. The device will be available at Apple retail locations at that time.
The iPad 2 features a 9.7-inch LED-backlit LCD screen, Apple’s new dual-core A5 processor, and two cameras. The device will have a front-facing VGA camera for FaceTime and Photo Booth, and a rear-facing camera that captures 720p HD video.
A lot of people will also like the fact that the iPad will ship in black and white.
The iPad 2 will also come with a gyro for an enhanced gaming experience.
iPad 2 with Wi-Fi will be available for $499 for the 16GB model, $599 for the 32GB model, and $699 for the 64GB model. iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G will be available for $629 for the 16GB model, $729 for the 32GB model and $829 for the 64GB model.
iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G compatible with the Verizon network will be available in the US only for $629 for the 16GB model, $729 for the 32GB model and $829 for the 64GB model.

What time will it go on sale at the other retailers?
Hi Jim, I’ve also read that the iPad will be available for sale via the Apple Store online beginning at 12 am on March 11th. Have you heard anything about that?
This is not exactly new. As soon as the iPad 2 was announced, Apple’s website reflected the fact that it’d be on sale at 5:00pm on the 11th.

5 PM has been on Apple’s iPad page since it was announced.
FWIW, Best Buy will be launching at 5 PM also. So, probably safe to assume all resellers will do the same.
