Apple on Thursday released its list of top iPhone and iPad apps of 2010. There are some well-known names on the list, and a few surprises too.
[ad#Google Adsense 300×250 in story]The Top 10 lists are broken up in several categories including Top 10 Overall Paid iPhone Apps for 2010; Top 10 Overall Free iPhone Apps for 2010; Top 10 Overall Grossing iPhone Apps for 2010; Top 10 Overall Paid iPad Apps for 2010; Top 10 Overall Free iPad Apps for 2010; and Top 10 Overall Grossing iPad Apps for 2010.
The main winners in the App Store this year were Hipstamatic, which won for iPhone App of the Year. Plants vs. Zombies came away with the iPhone Game of the Year and Flipboard won for iPad App of the Year. Osmos for iPad took the top spot for iPad Game of the Year.

I -really- wish that Apple could break out the apps for ‘serious’ stuff aside from the games.
yes, the ipod is a powerful game system… but I don’t need yet more temptation for
timewasting: i am however, interested in interesting “other” apps. (productivity, creativity etc.)
lately it seems that all that gets listed on the “what’s hot” or “staff picks” are games.
I’m not much of a mobile gamer either, but I think we are in the minority 🙂
Yeah, me too. I am more into other interesting apps that can enhance productivity, creativity and imagination. That is why my family is really enjoying BallFallDown by FlatPack Interactive. It is an Entertainment App that allows users to take an empty iPad screen -“board”- and construct thier own interactive game. You can make all sorts of things including a pinball machines. Although probably built for kids, my husband and I have spent hours playing with this app after the kids of put up the iPad and went to bed.
It is free in iTunes.

The Moron Test is a fun trick to play on friends. I was dumb enough to fall for it, so I had to get it so I could get all my friends with it. So I am a DISH employee and I am just wondering if anyone out there is using the DISH Remote Access app yet?
