If you use the official Twitter app for the iPhone or iPad, you’ll be interested to know about a significant update released tonight. Among the new features is push notifications for messages and mentions. There are some other great improvements as well.
These improvements include a simpler way to dismiss “panels” opened while navigating between users and links, more intuitive behavior for the aforementioned panels and various fixes to improve the user experience.

Microsoft Office 2011 has been available for a few weeks and reviews have been positive so far. Many of the early users, including me, noticed the significant speed increase in the new version. Microsoft on Tuesday gave some insight into how they achieved this. (more…)

You knew it was coming and now it’s here. RIM released a new video that compares the capabilities of its yet unreleased Playbook tablet to those of Apple’s iPad. Interesting to note that part of the demonstration is showing the speed difference in loading Flash webpages.
The video shows that the Playbook is faster at loading web pages than the iPad, although the selection of websites is limited and a test is focused on loading a website that feature “rich Flash content.”

TransGaming and Rockstar Games have announced the release of the Grand Theft Auto Trilogy for the Macintosh, available via TransGaming’s GameTreeMac.com download site first. The site has a 30 day exclusive, according to a statement released by TransGaming on Friday. Each of the three games in the trilogy is priced at $14.99. (more…)

Rumors began circulating yesterday that AirPrint, an Apple technology the enables wireless printing from your iPad, had been pulled from an upcoming Mac OS X update. Apparently, that’s not the case at all. An email, reportedly from Steve Jobs resolves the issue.
