I’ve been on a skateboard exactly two times in my life and both times I eventually fell off and almost busted my head open so I’m never going to try these tricks but it is interesting to watch them in slow motion with Hawk’s expert commentary.

There are all kinds of these “30-day challenges” – photography, writing, even mustaches. If you have someone who loves to draw, this might be of interest to them. My 13-year-old loves drawing and I’m going to see if I can get him interested in this. I can’t draw worth a damn but I want to buy a new iPad Pro and an Apple Pencil 2 for him just so he can use the Linea Sketch app.

Optical image stabilization isn’t really needed on an ultra-wide lens and the lack of RAW support probably won’t affect many users. Apple might be able to fix the problem, which is assumed to be due to distortion present in the uncorrected ultra-wide images, with a software update at some point in the future.

I’ve played many of the initial Apple Arcade games but none have captured my interest as much as Grindstone has. Unfortunately, I’m stuck on Level 16 and can’t get any further. But it was fun while it lasted.

No word though on a release date for Apple’s big iron.

I don’t know if Apple Arcade will “kill free-to-play” gaming as some have predicted but it is a shot across the bow to those developers who use that model to make money.

I take all these tests with very large grains of salt because everyone’s “Oh crap! I dropped my phone!” situation is different but they can still be interesting. I will admit it’s painful to watch so many brand new phones get destroyed. I wih I had that kind of money.

Hodinkee is a site that reviews very high-end watches. Predictably, they really like the latest version.

I find this kind of stuff fascinating. There’s some really interesting details into how the major organizations perform their testing.

This is not much of a “behind the scenes” look but it does show the iPhone 11 Pro can and will be used by professional photographers and videographers.

Check this project out. My wife has always wanted a Yurt in our backyard but I thought it was silly. Looking at this beautiful design makes me think it’s less of a silly idea – but we’re still not doing it.

Both the cop and the bad guy are incredible riders.

I’m very glad Apple is shining a light on this sleazy practice.

Take this free advice for what it’s worth: DO NOT install iOS 13 today on any devices you NEED to be stable and not buggy. Just wait until next Tuesday for iOS 13.1.

As usual, Mann got an early review unit to take on his travels. As expected, the camera performed above and beyond his expectations.

Interestingly, the two new trailers for these kid-friendly shows coming in November are available only Apple’s TV+ site, not on its YouTube channel.

The word is silly and unlikely to catch on but Apple is CYAing just in case.

I haven’t seen it since it originally came out and I have no intention of watching it ever again – that’s why I didn’t embed it in this post. But some of you might enjoy it. Fair warning: Tarantino is right.
