Titanium guitar with no fretboard

Just watch the video. The guitar is very cool looking, but listening to it, I feel like I’m just missing the feel of the wood. Still, incredibly innovative design, worth a look. Be sure to check out the snap-on acryclic back at about 5:32 into the video, gives your thumb something to hook onto.

  1. I have the original version of this from the 1970s. There wasn’t an acrylic back for the original ones, just the steel rod, or in some later versions, a sort of cast metal neck back. It’s like playing an endlessly scalloped neck, but it’s a great experience.

  2. Me too. It sounds beautiful and airy, but that could just be the ton of reverb he’s using. The plastic back is nice too, for playing barres I guess. Suspect it’s way out of my price range, and I think my next guitar needs to be a lap steel or something like that anyway…

  3. Sounds very tinny, almost cold, if I’m using the right words to describe it. I do appreciate the tech behind the crafting of this, but for me, it’s not something I would want.
