Apple on Friday launched a program to replace the hard drive on certain of its iMac computers.
[ad#Google Adsense 300×250 in story]”Apple has determined that a very small number of Seagate 1TB hard drives used in 21.5-inch and 27-inch iMac systems, may fail under certain conditions,” the company said on its Web site. “These systems were sold between May 2011 and July 2011.”
Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider will replace affected hard drives free of charge.
If you provided a valid email address during the registration process, Apple will contact you directly. If you haven’t been contacted, you can submit your serial number online and see if your machine is affected.
