It wasn’t that long ago that Apple first opened the doors to the App Store and now the company has reportedly surpassed 500,000 approved apps.
[ad#Google Adsense 300×250 in story]That figure comes from a group of companies that have been involved in the app business since it launched: 148Apps, a mobile app blog; Chomp, an app search engine; and Chillingo, a game developer.
The companies have put together a Facebook page celebrating the milestone.
Here are a few fun facts about the App Store that the companies have put together:
- It would cost $891,982.24 and over 7 terabytes to download all available applications.
- Approximately 36% of all apps are free and paid apps have an average price of $3.64
- Angry Birds released by Chillingo and developed by Rovio has held the number 1 paid spot more than any other app at 275 days total.
