Jackson is honoring Anthrax’s Scott Ian with a new signature model guitar.
[ad#Google Adsense 300×250 in story]The Scott Ian T-1000 Soloist was designed by Jackson Master Builder Mike Shannon and Ian. The neck-through-body design is based on Ian’s ’87 Soloist (the one bearing the New York Yankees logo).
The guitar comes in single and double humbucking pickup configurations and features a super-sized mahogany body with a 1/8-inch maple top, and an oil-finished maple neck.
The Scott Ian signature model also features a Quicksilver finish, compound radius ebony fingerboard (12-inch to 16-inch) with 24 jumbo frets and “High Boltage” lightning bolt inlays (“My homage to Angus Young,” Ian said), Ivoroid neck and headstock binding, Seymour Duncan Scott Ian El Diablo bridge pickup and Seymour Duncan ’59 neck pickup, Floyd Rose bridge or TonePros Tunamatic bridge, black hardware, Schaller strap locks and a G&G case.
The guitar will be available in spring 2011. No price was given for the guitar.
