Apple has posted an update to Aperture, its digital photo organization and retouching software for photo professionals. The new release is available for download through the Software Update system preference and through the Apple Web site.

Changes to Aperture 3.1.2 include:

• Importing iPhoto libraries
• Reliability and responsiveness when using brushes to apply adjustments
• Reconnecting referenced master images

Apple is recommending Aperture 3.1.2 for all users of Aperture 3.
