Just in time for the iPad 2’s release, Firemint has announced the release of Real Racing 2 HD, a new version of its flagship iOS racing game optimized specifically for iPad and iPad 2. It costs $9.99.

There are fifteen locations to race on, and a career mode that Firemint estimates will take 10 hours to complete – Cup, Head to Head, Championship, Time Trial and Elimination races.
Real Racing 2 HD lets you turn the entire iPad as your steering wheel, and Firemint has upped the game for iPad 2 users – it includes support for the iPad 2’s gyroscopic capabiities.
Real Racing 2 HD features local or remote Wi-Fi multiplayer racing between Real Racing 2 and Real Racing 2 HD players, with support for up to 16 racers at once. The game also supports Apple’s Game Center and Firemint’s Cloudcell, to help you keep track of how you’re doing against your friends. You can even record videos of your best races and upload them to YouTube.
