Apple will hold its iPad 2 event this week in San Francisco, Calif. and according to a new report the company may have almost immediate availability of the device.
[ad#Google Adsense 300×250 in story]Recent reports suggested the iPad 2, along with the iPhone 5, would be delayed this year. The Loop was able to independently confirm those rumors were false and that both products were on schedule.
However, as it turns out, Apple may be a bit ahead of schedule with the iPad 2. AppleInsider reports that customers could have the iPad 2 shortly after this week’s event.
Citing “people familiar with the matter,” AppleInsider says that “Apple is preparing several of its operating segments to perform functions during the second half of next week that are representative of nothing short of a large scale, consumer-oriented product roll out (not just an announcement).”
If that’s the case, the iPad 2 could be available on the day it’s announced or shortly thereafter.
