As regular readers know, The Loop doesn’t usually report on product releases unless it’s something that really captures our eye. But we figured we’d send out some love for that maker of beautiful accessories for Apple products, Twelve South, for their new BookArc for Air. It costs $39.99 and it’s available with free shipping for a limited time.
[ad#Google Adsense 300×250 in story]Apple’s redesigned MacBook Air is the latest gadget around The Loop world headquarters we can’t without. Both your faithful reporter and The Loop founder Jim “The Beard” Dalrymple swear by them when we’re on the road.
But if you’re using the MacBook Air on your desk, its clean lines can get a bit cluttered with cables and such, especially if you’re running an external monitor, keyboard and mouse. So why not clean it up?
Enter the BookArc for Air. Taking a cue from Twelve South’s other BookArcs, the BookArc for Air is a heavy gauge steel stand forged in a graceful arc. A soft grip holds the 11-inch and 13-inch MacBook Air in place, on its edge, and the BookArc includes a hole to guide power, USB and monitor cords, providing some clean cable management in the process.
What’s more, Twelve South claims the BookArc for Air actually improves MacBook Air performance. With the lid closed, the MacBook Air no longer splits scant video memory between the built-in display and an external display.
