Kara Swisher at All Things Digital reports that Apple is set to unveil the hotly anticipated iPad 2 on March 2, 2011, likely at an event to take place in San Francisco, Calif.
[ad#Google Adsense 300×250 in story]Hard details on what Apple will introduce with the iPad 2 are nonexistent, though that hasn’t stopped the rumor mills from churning out endless speculation, ranging from built-in cameras, higher-resolution graphics, dual-mode GSM and CDMA wireless data capabilities, and much more.
Swisher suggests the event will take place at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, a downtown San Francisco location next door to the Moscone Center, where Macworld Expo has taken place for many years. If true, the location seems more than coincidental, as the Moscone Center plays host next week to the Game Developer Conference (GDC), an annual gathering of worldwide developers. Since the advent of the iPhone, the conference has featured an increasing focus on iOS devices – the first two days feature a “smartphone summit” that will feature numerous speakers from the iOS ecosystem.
Earlier Tuesday, Loop founder Jim Dalrymple discounted rumors that the iPad 2’s release has been delayed.
