It’s been rumored, but now it’s official — Verizon will offer iPhone users an unlimited data plan.
[ad#Google Adsense 300×250 in story]Verizon’s Chief Operating Officer, Lowell McAdam, confirmed the news to the Wall Street Journal on Tuesday. iPhone users will have the opportunity to purchase a $30 monthly unlimited data plan.
“I’m not going to shoot myself in the foot,” McAdam said. “Not offering an unlimited plan would put up a barrier for customers who might otherwise switch from AT&T.”
An unlimited data plan is certainly a good move for Verizon, especially since AT&T cut its unlimited plan last year. It will offer some AT&T users another reason to switch.
The Verizon plan is only temporary so if you want it, you’ll have to act fast.
