Universal Audio at NAMM showed off its newest product, the UAD-2 Satellite Duo and Quad FireWire DSP Accelerators.
Users of UA products know that you need a card installed on your Mac to use the software — that means you must use a Mac Pro. UA has a card slot product for its high-end portable customers, but that still leaves a lot of products behind.
The UAD-2 Satellite captures all of those missed computers and allows a greater range of users, like iMac owners, to buy UA software. The UAD-2 Satellite connects to your computer using FireWire 400 or FireWire 800 and comes in either Duo or Quad processors.
The UAD-2 Satellite is expected to be released in the first quarter of 2011 and will cost $899.
