∞ iWork.com enhances Keynote playback, publishing options

Apple offers iWork.com as a way for users of its business productivity software suite to share their work online with other users, even users who don’t have iWork apps. The service is offered as a public beta, and on Monday Apple sent an e-mail announcing new features to iWork.com.

[ad#Google Adsense 300×250 in story]iWork.com now features the ability to play back Keynote presentations with animations. Apple now lists 12 separate transition effects and nine build effects that iWork.com can display with Keynote transitions. That isn’t all of the effects you can use inside the Keynote software for Mac, however, so if you use a transition or build effect that isn’t supported, it will be replaced with Dissolve.

Apple also offers new publishing options for iWork.com projects. You can upload documents only you can access, or you can share documents on social networks using a “Public” link. New embed codes also let you embed your presentations on a Web site or blog. The iWork.com info site has been updated with new details about how sharing works.
