Infinity Blade, the first game made for iOS by Epic Games, is now available for purchase on the App Store. It costs $5.99.
[ad#Google Adsense 300×250 in story]Epic Games thrilled the iOS community earlier this year when it announced plans to bring its Unreal Engine 3 video game technology – used extensively in PC and console games – to iOS. The first preview of it came with the introduction of Epic Citadel, an impressive (and free) environmental walkthrough without any actual interactive gameplay. Critics lauded Epic Citadel as having graphics unparalleled to anything yet released on iOS.
Infinity Blade is an actual game based on the same technology. The single player game takes you to a medieval environment in which you must defeat titans in the Dark Citadel until you face the God King himself. You can customize your character with new weapons, armor and magic items. The game supports Game Center, so you can track progress against your friends.
Chair Entertainment – Epic’s in-house game studio, the company behind the Infinity Blade project – promises enhancements including multiplayer, new areas, and new items.
System requirements call for an iPhone 3GS or better with iOS 3.2 or later.
