More people were walking out of an Apple store on Black Friday with an iPad than a Mac, according to Piper Jaffray Senior Research Analyst, Gene Munster.
[ad#Google Adsense 300×250 in story]In his report on Apple’s Black Friday sales released Monday, Munster said iPads were leaving the stores at a rate of 8.8 units per hour, according to Fortune. The Mac was selling at a rate of 8.2 units an hour — not a big difference, but enough to put the iPad on top.
Mac sales were down slightly over last year when Munster noted 8.3 units per hour leaving the Apple Stores.
Munster called the iPad “the Mac of the Masses.”
It’s important to note that these are not actual sales figures, but observations of Munster and his team. Apple will officially release its sales figures in January when it reports its quarterly results.
